Alibaba Undergoes “Smart Manufacturing” with New China Factory

Alibaba Group has undertaken a “smart manufacturing” business approach with its new factory in the Chinese city of Hangzhou.

The new addition is part of Alibaba's expansion beyond its core business into the sectors of the online retail supply chain. The new factory, run by an internal division - Xunxi Digital Technology Company - will work primarily with apparel companies. The company said it will use the data taken from e-commerce traffic, searches and sales to help anticipate popular items and their fluid supply. 

In fact, Alibaba founder - Jack Ma, has identified future trends for the group as far back as in 2016, as  “new manufacturing”, ”new retail," "new technology," "new finance" and "new energy". With so much ahead, many investors are considering Alibaba a buy, despite its recent dip.
