Netflix Stock up 5% on Subscriber Price Raise

30 October 2020

Netflix stock jumped a whole 5% late in Thursday’s trading, following the streaming giant’s announcement that it would be increasing prices for its US subscribers.

The company said it would increase its standard plan by $1, to $14 a month, and its premium plan - by $2, to $18 a month. The company had also recently upped its price plans in Canada. The move is a logical one, coming after the streaming giant’s recent quarterly results having missed expectations due to weakened new-user additions.
