PayPal Blocks Fundraising Site Linked to Recent US Events
PayPal announced it had blocked a Christian crowdfunding site - GiveSendGo, after it helped raise funds for people who attended last week's violent protests. The digital payments processor also confirmed that it had closed an account held by Ali Alexander - one of the main organizers of the gathering.
Online platforms and social media companies are all teaming up and taking action against the encouragement of what took place last week. Twitter, in turn, said it has suspended more than 70,000 accounts that were primarily dedicated to sharing the questionable content. AT&T, American Express and Dow, have said they would cut off campaign contributions to those who voted to challenge President-elect Joe Biden's victory.
