The NFP Report - Today 12.30 GMT

It’s that special day of the month again! The day NFP figures will be announced - Today, Friday, May 7th at 12.30 GMT.

The ADP report showed an addition of 742K jobs in April, which, although came slightly weaker than expected 800K, again marks its biggest gain in the past six months. With a decline in COVID-19 cases, job growth could expand in April allowing reopening of the economy, recovery and resumption of normal activities.

Regarding the NFP figures, analysts expect employers to have added 978K jobs in April, up from 916K in March. The unemployment rate is expected to fall 0.2% from March to settle at 5.8%.
