Users Confront Outage At Amazon’s Platforms, Before The Services Restored

24 June 2021

According to outage tracking website Downdetector, numerous users suffered a brief outage at Inc platforms including Alexa and Prime Video late Wednesday before services were back working as usual.

More than 6200 shoppers encountered issues at the tech giant’s retail site as of 01:48 GMT, whilst almost 1700 couldn’t access the Prime Video service. Problems with Alexa’s devices were also reported by more than 400 users.

Downdetector indicated that outage reports on the platforms reduced to double digits in just over an hour.

It was not immediately clear what caused the issue. Reuters reached out to Amazon for comment, but the company did not respond immediately.
