USD/PLN denotes how many Polish Zlotys you need to buy one USD. The word Zloty comes from the word "zloto" and it means golden in Polish. In the financial crisis of 2008-2009, Poland was the only EU country that avoided recession. The PLN was introduced once the country had established new borders after the First World War. It was then set at parity with the Swiss Franc. Poland's Warsaw Stock Exchange is the country's biggest financial marketplace and it is also one of the leading and fastest-growing exchanges on the Emerging Markets Europe index. The US dollar needs no introduction and is paired with all the main world currencies. It dates back to 1792, when the United States Congress created the US dollar as the country's currency. The pair does not have any correlations worth mentioning, due to the opposite position of the USD, it could be said that the USD/PLN has around a -95% negative correlation to the EURUSD. The typical exchange rate of PLN to USD is 2-to-1 to 4.5-to-1, although the current rate as of May 2019 is roughly 4-to-1.

1. Poland's key industries include steel and iron production, mining, production of chemical fertilisers and shipbuilding. The majority of trading takes place with Germany and Russia as well as other EU nations. 2. Even though Poland is less dependant on its trade relations, the levels of international demands for its exports play a major role in the country's economy and the value of the PLN. Any changes on the prices of coal and iron will have an impact in the currency and subsequently on the USD/PLN pair. 3. Traders should also keep an eye out for rumours or potential plans for Poland to adopt the Euro as its official currency, any progress in the matter will impact the USD/PLN.
